Get into the Festive spirit at our gently uplifting Christmas concert, with music to warm your heart on a cold December day. As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, let our programme of classical favourites and beloved carols wrap you in the joy of the season.
Our talented wind quintet – that’s flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon – have a mellow and wholesome sound that’s perfect for winter, as the instruments combine in a way that’s as rich and comforting as a crackling fire. Think the musical equivalent of hygge, that Danish idea of cosiness, contentment, and sharing simple pleasures with a small group of friends.
The band performs popular classical music arranged for their wind instruments. Then local choirs join the concert for rousing renditions of Christmas carols, some of which you can join in with if you choose. Sing along or sit back and relax – it’s totally up to you.
