We’ve been selected for PRSF’s New Music Biennial

BIG announcement….
Our new commission ‘Chasing Sunlight’ has been selected by PRS Foundation as part of their New Music Biennial, which supports creators who are pushing boundaries of new music in the UK.
Chasing Sunlight is a new piece we’ve commissioned from Mark David Boden, a composer and lecturer @RWCMD and performed by award-winning violinist Fenella Humphreys and our incredible string orchestra and percussion.
It’s inspired by the 40,000-mile migration of the Arctic tern, a bird that chases sunlight from pole to pole. This powerful audio-visual piece explores the impact of the climate crisis on migratory birds, and our hope for the future, with visual projections of migratory birds captured by refugee groups and people seeking asylum in Bradford and Cardiff.
We’re delighted to have been selected amongst a handful of organisations in the UK. We can’t wait to represent Wales as we perform ‘Chasing Sunlight’ in Bradford City of Culture and London’s Southbank Centre this summer…and yes, of course we’re performing it in Wales. Sign up to our newsletter for dates and further information.
With huge thanks to PRS Foundation, Arts Council Wales and the Hinrichsen Foundation for their support of this commission, and to RWCMD who supported the initial collaborative journey between Mark and Fenella.
