Let the incredible strings of Sinfonia Cymru take you on a magical musical Odyssey, in this exciting programme curated by the pioneering violinist and guest-director, Max Baillie.
Expect an exhilarating musical journey, embracing the old and new folk traditions from Wales and Europe. From Haydn’s stormy and captivating Fifth’s Quartet, rich with Hungarian-infused themes, to a folk medley of Eastern European and Nordic tunes and our own unique take on popular Welsh folk tunes, arranged especially for you by the fantastic Welsh violinist, Simmy Singh. The concert culminates with a tantalising medley of the Bach chorale, the Grieg Holberg Suite, and Simmy’s epic arrangement of Flippen by bluegrass band, the Punch Brothers.
