Players’ Picks – Chansonette, Hamilton Harty
Published Monday 9 August 2021We wanted to create more music videos for you and also give our wind players a chance to shine. So, we asked them to choose their favourite pieces from the wind repertoire. The result is a selection of short solos, duos and trios covering a range of composers and musical styles.
Amy has chosen Hamilton Harty’s charming Chansonette. Irish composer, Harty, spent some of his career in London and Manchester. He was Chief Conductor of the Halle Orchestra from 1920 to 1933 and he also had a short contract with the LSO from 1932-34.
