A surprising cello duet…

Published Wednesday 25 March 2020

Making his debut with the orchestra back in March 2019, Jonathan Bloxham conducted a sell-out tour with Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Sinfonia Cymru, just before his 30th birthday.

“Making music with the players of Sinfonia Cymru is an absolute treat for a conductor. Not only do they play to an exceptional technical level, their openness, curiosity, willingness to experiment and, mostly importantly of all, their ability to have fun is an inspiration!” says conductor Jonathan Bloxham.

Not only did Jonathan show his talent as a conductor, but at two of the concerts he joined Sheku for a cello duet encore!

Listen again to the concert on BBC Radio 3 (available until 9 August).
